Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 16 September 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply when you use the State + Sound website or purchase a product, service or experience from State + Sound.
State + Sound is operated by TAYTULA BURKE, a sole trader trading as State + Sound.
By making a purchase or booking, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and any additional information or terms clearly provided in relation to the particular product or service.
If you have any questions, please contact hello@stateandsound.co.uk
1. About State + Sound
State + Sound provides services, experiences and products relating to personal development, wellbeing, breathwork, meditation, hypnosis, sound, spiritual and reflective practices, tarot, numerology, energy work and ritual.
Services may be delivered online, in person, individually, in groups or through digital content.
The specific format, duration, price and inclusions of each service or product will be stated on the relevant service, booking or product page.
2. Booking and purchasing
When booking or purchasing through State + Sound, you are responsible for providing complete and accurate information.
Please review the description, price, format, date or appointment time where applicable, and any participation requirements before completing your purchase.
Your booking or order is confirmed when you receive confirmation from State + Sound or the relevant booking or ecommerce system.
Prices will be displayed before you complete your purchase.
Payments are processed securely using the payment methods available at checkout.
3. Appointments
Appointments must be booked through the booking options provided by State + Sound unless otherwise agreed.
Please ensure you are available at the scheduled time and have any technology, internet connection or other requirements needed to participate in an online session.
Cancellations and rescheduling
Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 12 hours before the scheduled start time.
Requests made less than 12 hours before the appointment may not be eligible for cancellation, rescheduling, refund or transfer, subject to your statutory rights and the circumstances of the cancellation.
If you do not attend an appointment without giving the required notice, this will normally be treated as a late cancellation.
If you arrive late, the appointment will still normally end at its originally scheduled time. Where reasonably possible, the session will continue for the remaining booked time.
If State + Sound needs to cancel an appointment and cannot provide the service as agreed, you will be offered an appropriate alternative appointment or a refund.
Full details are available in the Cancellations & Refunds Policy.
4. Breathwork and participation
Some State + Sound experiences may include breathwork or other practices that are not suitable for everyone.
Where relevant, you may be asked to review contraindications or complete screening information before participating.
You are responsible for answering screening questions accurately and informing State + Sound where you are unsure whether a listed contraindication applies to you.
If you are advised not to participate in a particular practice, or to obtain appropriate professional advice before doing so, you should follow that advice.
State + Sound may modify or decline to provide a particular practice where there are reasonable concerns about whether it is appropriate to proceed.
Nothing in these terms removes State + Sound's obligation to provide services with reasonable care and skill. UK consumer law protects that right.
5. Wellbeing and personal development services
Statecraft and related State + Sound practices are intended for personal development, educational and wellbeing purposes.
They are not medical or mental health services and are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure medical or psychological conditions.
Information or practices provided by State + Sound should not be used as a replacement for medical treatment, psychotherapy or other care from an appropriately qualified professional where this is required.
If you have concerns about your physical or mental health or whether a particular practice is suitable for you, you should seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.
6. Alchemy services
State + Sound's Alchemy services may include tarot, numerology, ritual, energy work and other spiritual, intuitive or symbolic practices.
These services are provided for spiritual, reflective and personal-development purposes.
Interpretations arising from tarot, numerology or other Alchemy practices are not guarantees of future events or particular outcomes.
They should not be treated as a substitute for medical, mental health, legal, financial or other regulated professional advice.
You remain responsible for your own choices and decisions following an Alchemy service.
7. Digital products and on-demand content
State + Sound may sell digital products including audio practices, recordings, protocols, guides, rituals and other downloadable or streamed content.
The relevant product page will describe what is included and any technical or access requirements.
Unless otherwise stated, purchasing digital content gives you a limited right to use that content for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
You must not reproduce, resell, distribute, publish, upload, share or commercially exploit State + Sound digital content without prior written permission.
Immediate digital access
Where digital content is supplied immediately, you may be asked before receiving access to expressly consent to supply beginning during the statutory cancellation period and to acknowledge the effect this has on your right to cancel.
For downloads and streaming, UK online-selling rules require this agreement and acknowledgement before supply begins if the consumer is to lose the 14-day cancellation right.
Further information is provided in the Cancellations & Refunds Policy.
8. Physical products
Where State + Sound sells physical products, the product description will explain what you are purchasing and, where relevant, whether an item is made to order, personalised or bespoke.
We aim to describe products accurately. Colours, appearance and handmade elements may vary slightly from photographs where this is inherent to the nature of the product.
Delivery information, including available destinations, estimated dispatch or delivery information and applicable charges, will be provided through the website or checkout.
Please see the Shipping & Delivery Policy and Cancellations & Refunds Policy for further information.
Your statutory rights in relation to faulty, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming goods are not affected. Consumer goods must meet legal requirements including being as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.
9. Results and outcomes
People may experience State + Sound services and practices differently.
While services are provided with reasonable care and skill, particular personal, emotional, professional, spiritual, financial, relationship, wellbeing or other outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Testimonials and descriptions of other people's experiences represent their individual experiences and should not be interpreted as a promise that you will experience the same result.
Nothing in this section limits any statutory rights you have regarding the quality or performance of services, goods or digital content.
10. Your responsibilities
When participating in a State + Sound service or experience, you agree to:
provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
follow reasonable participation and safety instructions;
tell State + Sound if you are unable or unwilling to continue with a practice;
use services and materials responsibly; and
respect the privacy and participation of others when attending a group experience.
You are always free to stop participating in an exercise or practice.
11. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the content and materials created by State + Sound remain the intellectual property of State + Sound or the relevant rights holder.
This includes, where applicable, written materials, audio recordings, guided practices, protocols, frameworks, exercises, course or workshop materials, graphics, website content and other original resources.
Purchasing or receiving access to a service or product does not transfer ownership of this intellectual property to you.
Materials provided for personal use may not be copied, reproduced, sold, distributed, publicly shared, adapted for commercial use or used to provide services to others without prior written permission.
Nothing in this section prevents ordinary personal use of material you have purchased.
12. Recordings
Where a service includes a recording for you to keep, this will be stated in the service description.
Any recording provided to you is for your personal use unless otherwise agreed.
State + Sound will not record you for public, promotional or commercial use without obtaining appropriate permission.
13. Prices and payment
Prices are displayed in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise.
The total price payable will be shown before you complete your purchase, including applicable delivery charges where relevant.
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered at checkout or booking.
State + Sound may change prices for future purchases at any time. A price change will not alter the agreed price of a purchase you have already completed.
14. Promotions and discount codes
Any promotion or discount may be subject to additional conditions displayed when it is offered.
Unless otherwise stated, promotional codes cannot be exchanged for cash or applied retrospectively to purchases already made.
State + Sound may withdraw or amend future promotions, but this will not affect purchases already validly completed using a promotion.
15. Cancellation rights
Depending on what you purchase and how it is supplied, UK consumer law may give you statutory cancellation rights in addition to State + Sound's own cancellation arrangements.
Different rules apply to services, physical goods and digital content.
These rights cannot be removed simply by these Terms & Conditions. Consumer contract terms must be fair and cannot take away statutory protections.
Please read the Cancellations & Refunds Policy before purchasing for details relevant to each type of purchase.
16. Problems with a product or service
If there is a problem with something you have purchased, please contact hello@stateandsound.co.uk.
State + Sound will aim to resolve legitimate problems reasonably and in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be provided with reasonable care and skill, while statutory protections also apply to goods and digital content.
17. Website use
You may use the State + Sound website for lawful personal purposes.
You must not knowingly:
interfere with the operation or security of the website;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or related systems;
use the website for fraudulent or unlawful activity; or
reproduce or commercially exploit website content without permission where that content is protected by intellectual property rights.
Links to third-party websites or services may be provided for convenience. State + Sound is not responsible for the content or operation of websites that it does not control.
18. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with the State + Sound Privacy Policy.
The website also uses cookies and similar technologies as described in the Cookie Policy.
19. Changes to these terms
State + Sound may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time, for example where services, products, business practices or legal requirements change.
The version that applies to a purchase is the version in effect when that purchase is made, together with any additional terms specifically agreed for that purchase.
The latest version will be available on the State + Sound website.
20. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory consumer protections applicable where you live.
Nothing in these terms prevents you from exercising any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
